In order to assist poor households with registered cards who are beneficiaries of the Backbone Project to obtain claims smoothly. From September 8th to September 11th, 2020, the project team of the Health Insurance Department of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation went to Dafang county and Liping County in Guizhou province to carry out project investigation and beneficiary visits.

      On September 8th, 2020, the project team participated in the claims seminar at the Dafang County Poverty Alleviation Office. Ou Hu, Deputy Director of the Dafang County Ecological Immigration Bureau, claims commissioners and township managers attended the conference, fully exchanging and discussing the situation of claims settlement in 2019.

The Backbone Project Claims Seminar of Liping County

      On September 10th, 2020, the project team participated in the claims seminar at Liping County of the Healthcare Security Administration. Yang Minghua, Deputy Director of Liping County of the Healthcare Security Administration, Wu Zhihong, Director of Liping County of the Healthcare Security Service Center, Claims Commissioners and various township managers attended the meeting.

      The Backbone Project is a targeted poverty alleviation project jointly launched by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, Alibaba Philanthropy and the Philanthropy & Insurance Platforms of Ant Financial Services. It aims to provide tailored poverty alleviation insurances to poverty-stricken households with registered cards aged between 18 to 60 years old. The Backbone Project provides supplementary medical insurance on the basis of existing health poverty alleviation protection in various places, supplementary reimbursement of hospitalization medical expenses of poor households to reduce their family burdens, so as to reduce the incidence of poverty and return to poverty due to illness.
