About Us



Established in 1989, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation is a nationwide nongovernmental charitable organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, PRC, and supervised by the National Administration for Rural Revitalizationformerly the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development. It has become one of the largest and most influential philanthropic organizations in the field of poverty alleviation in China. By the end of 2020, CFPA had raised RMB 7.8 billion of funds and materials in total and benefited 48.4 million person-times of poverty-stricken and disaster-stricken population.

 

Over the past 32 years, CFPA has won wide recognition from the public due to its sound internal governance, program management, and social performance. In September 2016, CFPA was one of the first to be certified by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as a charitable organization eligible for public fundraising. CFPA has been consistently endeavoring to fulfill its mission: disseminate good and reduce poverty, help stakeholders to achieve their aims, and make the good more powerful, by taking responsibilities to respond to social problems, building partnerships with donors, volunteers and different stakeholders, promoting reforms and innovations, and widely mobilizing social forces to participate in poverty alleviation.

 

Internationally, we have carried out humanitarian relief and poverty reduction work in 24 countries and regions, accumulatively inputting RMB 270 million of cash and materials, benefiting more than 1.33 million person-times by 2020. At present, CFPA has implemented long-term projects in Myanmar, Nepal, Cambodia, Ethiopia and Sudan, with Myanmar and Nepal offices officially registered in 2015Ethiopia Office officially registered in 2019.
