The "Love Knows No Borders" international charity sale was started from 2009 which has been led by wife of Chinese Foreign Minister. These charity activities have covered fields such as health, education and infrastructure development in poverty areas. The charity sale has developed to focus on one specific theme, one particular vulnerable group, and one set of social issues every year. Ten years later, "Love Knows No Borders" has made unique contribution to Chinese diplomacy and poverty alleviation career.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China started to co-host the "Love Knows No Borders" international charity sale with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation in 2016. With the 2.23 million yuan raised that year, 22 bridges were built in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which improved the transportation conditions in the poverty areas in Southwest China, made it easier for local villagers especially children.
In 2017, 3.35 million yuan was raised from the charity sale for the construction of 7 health clinics in Jinping and the expansion of a health center in Malipo, Yunnan. These projects improved the health and medical conditions for the local communities and eased their difficulties in accessing medical services.
