Nutritious Meals Program

In 2008, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation launched the Nutritious Meals Program, a philanthropic program focusing on improving children's nutrition in poverty-stricken areas. After years of practice and exploration, CFPA has gradually formed a three-in-one program including nutritious meals, kitchen renovation, and nutrition knowledge promotion. 

From October 9, 2008 to December 31, 2018, funds raised for the program exceeded RMB 310 million, and the accumulative input exceeded RMB 280 million, covering 96 counties (cities, districts) from 46 cities (prefectures) in 14 provinces (autonomous regions): Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Liaoning, Hebei, Fujian, Henan, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, benefiting 936,000 person-times, providing 51 million nutritional meals for students, with the establishment of 1,748 standardized kitchens of love. Meanwhile, school feeding programs were carried out in Cambodia and Ghana. In addition, the program provided approximately 762,000 packages of Vita Meals for 605,000 person-times in 20 provinces across China. 

In 2018, the Nutritious Meals Program raised funds of RMB 46.42 million and input a total of RMB 37.48 million, with a coverage of 29 counties (districts) from 18 cities (prefectures) in 6 provinces (autonomous regions): Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Xinjiang, Hunan and Hebei, providing 6.03 million nutritious meals for students, with the establishment of 281 standardized kitchens of love, benefiting more than 138,000 person-times of students. Meanwhile, the program provided a total of 21,000 packages of Vita Meals for 13,000 person-times. (Accumulative donation and expenditure amount includes international nutritious meals, kitchens renovations by the Moving Forward Plan, and kitchen renovations for post-disaster reconstruction. Donation and expenditure amount in 2018 do not include international nutritious meals or kitchens renovations by the Moving Forward Plan.)
