Walmart Fundraising Initiative for the Nutritious Meals Program

Walmart Fundraising Initiative for the Nutritious Meals Program was jointly launched by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and Walmart China. It aims to improve the nutritious status of children in poverty-stricken areas and help with their all-round development through donations of consumers, Walmart and its suppliers.
From 2011 to 2018, Walmart and its outstanding suppliers donated over RMB 120 million, benefiting 220,000 person-times of students in more than ten primary schools in poor areas of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Guangxi and Hebei. Walmart China advanced the progress of philanthropy by taking full use of its own advantages.
From August 16th to 29th 2018, CFPA and Walmart launched the 4th Fundraising Initiative for the Nutritious Meals Program and received more than RMB 2.24 million of funds. During the activity, consumers were able to make donations at over 400 Walmart supermarkets and cashier desks of Sam’s Club stores nationwide, with Walmart providing matching funds. At the same time, consumers can buy and donate Great Value products of Walmart, Member’s Mark products of Sam’s Club and certain QQ Star products of Yili from Walmart supermarkets, Sam’s Club App, Jingdong flagship stores and Jingdong Daojia App, with Walmart and Yili providing matching funds.
